InSAR-Based Ground Deformation Monitoring

SBAS InSAR time-series analysis over a multi-year Sentinel-1 archive to quantify subsidence and produce deformation velocity maps for infrastructure risk management.

Challenge

Ground deformation in a developing urban area was causing progressive infrastructure damage with no systematic monitoring in place.

Method

Sentinel-1 SAR data processed using SBAS InSAR time-series analysis. Reference network established using corner reflectors. Deformation velocity maps and time-series extracted at 20m resolution.

Output

Annual deformation velocity maps, time-series at selected monitoring points, risk zone delineation for infrastructure management.
